Delicious and warming on a chilly winter night, mulled wine takes just a few minutes to prepare and always cheers up your guests x
Get your flavourings ready. Add according to your own taste. For example you could add star anise or omit any of the spices used here.
Add your chosen spices and sugar to a saucepan. Tear pieces of orange peel and add. Pour a bottle of red wine into the pan.
Stir over a low to medium heat for ten minutes or so. Be careful not to overheat or boil as this will cook away the alcohol. The idea is to infuse the spice flavour into the wine as it gently heats.
Strain into glasses or tumblers of your choice. Decorate with orange peel or spices to your liking. Drink ;)
