M&M Bag

  • Completed Project: M&M Bag Picture #1
  • Completed Project: M&M Bag Picture #2

A bag made from old denim jeans and an M&M bag.
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

I am always looking for ways to challenge myself creatively and as I was browsing the site I looked over onto my desk at a M&M wrapper. I thought, this could make a good bag! So I ran up to my room and spent an hour creating this little jewel. I personaly like the way it turned out!

  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Start with a empty bag of M&Ms.

  2. Step 1

    Step 1

Cut off the ends of the bag.

  3. Step 2

    Step 2

Flip you bag inside out and cut a slit through the bag until it is about one inch from each side. My bag was torn and torn more in the process of turning it inside out. So I hot glue the peices back together

  4. Step 3

    Step 3

Cut your denim to size and tack it to your bag with hot glue. Then stitch the denim using what I think it a blanket stitch until it looks like...

  5. Step 4

    Step 4

    This!

  6. Step 5

    Step 5

Cut the excess material from the bag and then glue the edges using hot glue. (Or you could stitch but at this point I was too lazy to sew anymore:)

  7. Step 6

    Step 6

Flip the bag right side out and glue the little opening flap thingy down to make the outside of the purse smooth.

  8. Step 7

    Step 7

Trace around the circumference of the bag onto a peice of denim(this was two layers thick)Cut them out.

  9. Step 8

    Step 8

Glue one of the denim circles to one end of the bag. Repeat with the other side so it looks like...

  10. Step 9

    Step 9

    This!

  11. Step 10

    Step 10

Make a handle. WHat I did was make a tube by rolling the denim, then tacking it with hot glue and then stapling it

  12. Step 11

    Step 11

    Attatch the handle

  13. Step 12

    Step 12

And the it is! A bag that you can use to smuggle sweets into the movies!

Thanks people!
And no I didn't know m&m tested on animals along with a large number of other candy manufacturers... THAT'S AWFUL! I am not promoting this with my bag but I think I did my part recycling at the very least:)
