1. 

   Back
   Chain (ch) 12 in main color (MC).
   Row 1: Double crochet (dc) in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across (10 dc). Ch 2, turn.
   
   Rows 2-8: 1 dc in each dc across, ch 2 turn. On 8th row, fasten off.

2. 

   Right Front
   Ch 7 with MC.
   
   Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across (5 dc). Ch 2, turn.
   
   Rows 2-6: 1 dc in each dc across, ch 2 turn.
   
   Row 7: Dc in each of the first three stitches, decrease over last 2 stitches, ch 2 turn.
   
   Row 8: Decrease over first 2 stitches. Dc in each of last two stitches, fasten off.




3. 

   Left Front
   Ch 7 with MC.
   
   Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across (5 dc). Ch 2, turn.
   
   Rows 2-6: 1 dc in each dc across, ch 2 turn.
   
   Row 7: Decrease over first 2 stitches. Dc in each of next three stitches, ch 2 turn.
   
   Row 8: Dc in each of the first two stitches, decrease over last 2 stitches, fasten off.

4. 

   Connecting the front and back
   Sew together at each shoulder seam with right sides together. The decreased rows serve as the front neck opening.
   
   Starting at bottom of the sweater with right sides together, sew the side seams along rows 1-6, leaving 2 rows unseamed for armhole openings.




5. 

   Sleeves
   Row 1: Attach variegated yarn (CC) at base of the armhole opening. Ch 2 and dc evenly around for a total of 15 dc, join with slip stitch (ss) in top of ch 2.
   
   Row 2-4: Half double crochet (hdc) in each stitch around, join with ss in top of ch 2.
   
   Row 5: 3 hdc in first stitch. Skip next stitch, single crochet (sc) in next stitch. Skip next stitch, 3 hdc in next, continue in this pattern until the round is completed, ss in top of ch 2, fasten off.
   
   Work in ends.
