cute hat for a party or fancy dress up.
well i was on www.meez.com and saw this, and thought, why don't they make these in stores? so i sewed one and here's the pattern. you might wanna stick some bobby pins or something through it to keep it on tho.

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 1
    Step 1

cut out a 9in. circle in the fabric (yes it says 6 in the pic just do 9.)

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 2
    Step 2

now make it into a ring that is 4 1/2 inches wide, making the rim of the hat.(i screwed up THIS too. follow the text exactly for perfect results.

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 3
    Step 3

cut out a large, 1 foot square and sew one side to the other, thus making the middle of the hat.

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 4
    Step 4

now cut out another 6in. cirle,(or whatever will cover the top of your hat.) but DONT cut a hole in it like the first one, (bcuz this will be the top.)

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 5
    Step 5

sew that to the top of the one-side seamed tube/middle of hat
Now do the exact same thing with cardboard steps 1-6, exept without the adornments, and slip the pre-sewn fabric hat over the cardboard one.

  • How to make a top hat. Mini Top Hat - Step 6
    Step 6

now sew the rim to the other side.
now that thats done, ad lace to it and a bow with a button to the center on each side. just a suggestion, make a hole on both sides of the rim to stick bobby pins through or something so it'll stay on.
