It was the first time I've tried soldering and took some practice to get the results I wanted.

wow! so pretty!! Where did you get your slides from?. I guess this would also work by super gluing the edges together. They'd look cute without the frame. Nice job!

You can get either microscope glass from ebay or Ranger Memory glass from various craft suppliers.
Ranger sells the copper foil tape or you can get it from stained glass suppliers. You can give an antiqued effect by rubbing the solder with patina which makes it black.
