Another gift for my Merlin-obsessed friend! I decorated a paper mache book-box [bought from Hobbycraft] in the style of the spell book from the show. To add more detail, I cut out bits of cardboard to make edges and a centre embellishment. It was painted completely brown, then dry-brushed layers of red and gold were added. The inside is a bright Pendragon red, and the 'pages' are a creamy brown with dry-brushed stripes! :)
I'm really happy with how it turned out, and my friend seemed very happy too! :D
[I do have more photos somewhere, but they're temporarily missing - I'll upload when they resurface! ;)]
These recycled paper flowers employ a bookbinder's trick to make them foolproof, sturdy, and gorgeous enough to eat.
