my first posting and recon.i haven't sewn in ages (at least 20 years)and even than i didn't improvise much, i used patterns.

turn the shirt inside out. cut off the sleeves, rip off the collar, detach shoulders.
adjust the t-shirt to your waist and hips mesurements and sew sides of the skirt. bottom hem is already done, you'll just need upper one in which i inserted elastic
for better fit around the waist.

et voila!
