Glitzy shoes to finish off any ball outfit.
I was going to a masquerade ball at my college and couldn't find any shoes to go with my mask. I decided to buy a pair of simple black shoes and spruce them off with bits n pieces from a haberdashery. I managed to find a lot of the same ribbons and embellishments that were on the mask which was good. It was very easy and they turned out pretty cool!

  • How to embellish a pair of bejewelled shoes. Masquerade Shoes - Step 1
    Step 1

First you have your basic black shoes. I chose t-bar ones with a bow at the front because they were cute!

Next it is a good idea to set out all the materials that you are planning to use.

Start glueing on the trim all the way round the top of the shoe. Only use tiny blobs, eitherwise you will end up with a sticky mess!

Choose a diamante to put in the middle of the bow. I picked one in a orangey-gold shade to tie in with my mask.

Next you need to get the silver diamante squares. Arrange them in a diamand pattern on the front of the shoe, so it looks in the style of a masquerade/carnival.

Again, only use tiny blobs of glue and make sure you press the squares down firmly to make sure they are stuck on properly.

As a final step I attached two lengths of 50cm ribbon (one silver and one gold) to each shoe. These are to be used as ankle-ties.

    Now the shoes are complete!
