a lap blanket I made my son
 <  Image 1 of 2  >

This is a lap blanket I made my son for Christmas to keep him warm while watching TV and educational so when a country is mentioned, he can look down on the blanket and see where it is on the map.

It cost under $15 for all materials and took about 6 hrs because of the quilting.

I bought the world map fabric panel at Walmart for under $6. You can also find them on Ebay in the Fabric section - just type in
"world map".

The fleece I bought at Hancock fabric (1 1/2 yds) at Hancock fabric for $4 a yd. then machine quilted where the latitude and longitude line were on the map.
