Inspiration for this is a series of hoodoo inspired bust and heads I have been painting lately.I have used mannequin heads, barbie heads, and random bust and heads that call to me at rummage sales and antique malls. For this one I primed her to make the surface paintable and then cut her hair and painted her. I even painted some of her hair but after that became a bit tedious I opted to wrap her hair with a red scarf.I then clear coated her with a poly acrylic.

This is awesome! I need a Barbie head now. I have two Virgin Mary statues that I am going to paint in Day of the Dead style, kind of like this.

So pretty ^_^ I never thought of taking a scary barbie head and turn it into something so beautiful. What kind of primer did you use?
