Fold all of your plain 8 1/2 by 11 inch pieces of paper in half and also fold the colored paper. (if the design is only on one side put the design facing in) Put one inside the other, like a book.
Sew in two spots, about and inch and half from the top and bottom (the black lines in the photo)
Cut two pieces of cardboard each about 6 1/2 inches by 9 1/4 inches and tape together leaving about a 1/4 in space in the middle
Cut the fabric 16 inches by 12 inches and use your fabric glue to glue the cardboard to the center of the fabric
First fold the corners and glue to the cardboard and you can reinforce it with the tape
Fold over and glue the rest of the sides to the cardboard
Take your ribbon (i just used strips of fabric) and cut two 6 inch pieces and tape towards the edge, as shown, so you will be able to tie your book closed
Line up the folded crease of the papers with the space between the cardboard
Glue your fancy or colored paper (or if you just want white you can glue the end pages) to the fabric covering up all of the cardboard and tape
Kind of ironic. I did something like that last night, but in my own version I suppose. Mine only had one difference, it had a middle section because I put in 200 sheets of paper. It's always fun to make books lol.
I too made something similar; different materials for the cover (foam core) and I added a spine. I'm going to try making with lines on the pages, may just use regular notebook paper. Hmmmm
Sorry...

That's the simplist version I've seen. Thankyou, now I can actually make one. It looks very nice by the way.=)
