Geeky Home Decor!
My boyfriend is an avid Magic: The Gathering player. So for Christmas, I decided to make him a Magic pillow. There are five types of mana, black being his favorite, so I decided to make the pillow have a black mana design.

First I made the black mana design. I found the image online, printed it out, then traced it onto some black fabric. I cut out the design and hand sewed it to a white square of fabric (7.5 in x 8.5 in). Cutting out and then hand sewing the design took the most time (about an hour) because I had to sew down all the edges of the design. I then folded the sides of the white fabric and sewed them.

Next I cut a black pillowcase into a square (15 in x 16 in). I pinned the white square with the design to the middle of the black pillowcase and hand sewed it in place. Lastly, I put stuffing in the pillow and sewed up the open side.

I plan on making him pillows for all the five types of mana. So then he will have a complete set to deck out his room.
