Turn an old ugly fake brass mirror into a princess inspired magic looking glass!

A friend gave me an ugly fake brass(AKA plastic) mirror, and I came up with this idea, so I can put it in my daughter's room.

Crafts

Instructions

  1. 1

Clean the frame, making sure it's free of dust(as this style is out dated, and probably has been hiding in an attic).
Choose your base color, and paint the entire frame that color(I mixed a batch of periwinkle, using dark purple, blue, and white).

  2. 2

Choose different colors for each type of filigree in your design. Mine had flowers, leaves, dots and dashes, and a cool edging.
You could also do a monochromatic look, by painting all the raised areas one color(example: background white, filigree white. Or tan and brown, black and white, red and white, etc.)

  3. 3

After the paint tries completely(leave for an hour or so), paint with a coat of Mod Podge to seal it, otherwise it will bump and scratch off easily.
