How's this for an unusual situation. Yesterday I went to Indigo to check out VÚronik Avery's book Knitting Classic Style. I turned away from the shelves where I couldn't find it and when I looked back there was Vúronik herself along with her dude Marcel and her daughter Oona. No that's not a typo in Veronik's name, that is the way they wrote it in the store's database and if you're looking for her book online or asking for it at the store, you'll have to tell them how they spelled her name otherwise they'll never find. You'll have better luck with Avery. Anyhoo, it is full of classic designs to keep you warm as she says. I will put it on my list of books to get. I even got to see her office last Friday when I dropped my knitting for hire though to my never ending shame, it had started to unravel a bit at the side seam. Oh the humanity...
Don't you love it when projects finish without you knowing it? I stood in front of the mirror with trying on this scarf still on the needles and lo and behold I decided it was done. In the end it was 57 inches long as opposed to the 4 feet I said it would measure the last time. Why didn't I make the scarf 60 inches long? Because it wouldn't have added anything extra. I got the Lacy Bubbles from 365 Knitting Stitches a Year, a perpetual calendar pattern calendar I picked up at my LYS a couple of years ago. It was an easy pattern to remember and after a bit I was able to make 5 sts from one without looking but I still had to do it when I was knitting 5 sts into on. The EcoCotton yarn was fun to knit with, it was soft malleable and gives a great drape to the scarf.
