I made this for Mother's day ages ago, but you can really make one for anyone at any time of the year. Its quite easy, if you are good at computers and design, quite hard if not.. :)

first, you will need a template of a cube. You can get one easily from the internet, Draw your own, or use the one I used: http://gwydir.demon.co.uk/jo/solid/cube.gif
Remember: It needs to have flaps on the sides of the cubes
Copy and paste the box template onto a word document, shrink and largen it to size you want.
Now its time to decorate your box! What I did was copied and pasted (onto the same word document) my favourite fabrics from this site: http://warmbiscuit.com/newfabrics.html But you can play around on the internet if you want different designs
This bit is hard to explain but easy to do:
When you have your 6 designs copied and pasted, you need to shrink or largen the squares of design so that they fit nicely onto the squares of the box. When you are happy with the designs, print it using the best setting on the printer. Print it onto white card.

So it should look like this, except with patterns instead of writing. Then, assemble your box. Cut around the edge using sharp scissors, being careful not to cut the flaps off. Fold the edges before you stick, and then glue all it together. Make sure it has a flap at the top, which you don't glue, so it will open and close
Leave it how it is, or decorate it more. For Mother's day I glued a paper rose to the top, and a few fake pearls. I also lined the bottom with pink foam, as the thing going inside it was breakable.
