This shawl is a one skein wonder. This isn't a project that you can whip out in an afternoon, the size means that it will take some time. But once you get the hang of it you can spend that time catching up on The Walking Dead as your shawl gradually grows.

It's perfect for that special skein of yarn that you've been saving for a special occasion. My one used every last bit of the 225m hand-dyed merino.

Step 1
Cast on 16 stitches.

Row 1: KF&B, K14, KF&B
Row 2: KF&B, Knit to last stitch, KF&B
Row 3: KF&B across entire row
Step 2
Row 4 - 8: KF&B, Knit to last stitch, KF&B
Row 9: KF&B across entire row

Row 10 - 26 - KF&B, Knit to last stitch, KF&B
Row 27: KF&B across entire row
Step 3
Now we start on the ruffly part.

Row 28 - 38 - KF&B, Knit to last stitch, KF&B

Row 39: KF&B across entire row
Row 40: KF&B across entire row

Bind off all stitches and weave in ends.
Step 4
Don't worry if you lose count of how many rows you've completed. As long as you complete 3 increase rows, it won't affect the finished object significantly.
