Grab a pallet or some old wood and create your own pallet art.

  • How to make a plaque / sign. "Life's An Adventure" Pallet Art - Step 1
    Step 1

    If using a pallet, break the pallet apart if you would like to change the dimensions of the final pallet. If just using old wood, decide how wide and tall you would like your pallet to be and cut your wood down. Glue the wood slats onto two wood supports on the back and then nail the boards to the supports as well.
    Sand the wood to remove any rough pieces.

    Using a cutting machine, (I used a Silhouette), create your design and cut them out using vinyl. You will be using the "negative area" of the vinyl as a stencil.

    Apply the vinyl to the pallet to use as a stencil.

    Using acrylic paint, paint the stencil.

    Peel away the vinyl to reveal the painted design.

    Using more paint, add some highlight and low lights to the bicycle. And paint a basket full of flowers as well if you'd like!

    Optional: Sand the whole piece once again to give the paint a more aged, distressed look.
