lay your newspaper down in the area you are working in

lay wax paper over the news paper that way when you paint your letters they wont get newspaper all over them trust me it helps...

pull tags off your letters get a paper plate and put your paint on it

I got my letters for around 2.50usd a letter and my paint for around .99usd a bottle......the card bored letters are lighter cheeper and easyer to hang but wood works too

the brush i used

this isnt a step but its helpful lol

start buy painting the top of your letter it may take more than one coat of paint

i used a spounge brush because it was the bigest brush i had and gave a grainy effect

by using a spounge you can give a wood grain effect

paint the sides of your letter AFTER you give the top color a chance to dry dont worry if you get the paint on your top color you can touch it up later

if paint the sides a brighter color it will make them look more 3D

let dry and deside how you want to hang them or sit them on a shelf

to hang them use a drill bit to make a hole in the back be carefull no to pierce bothe sides

and your done
