  • How to make a hair clip / barrette. Korker Bows - Step 2
    Step 2

wrap ribbons around the dowel and hold ends together with wooden clothes pins (wooden is a MUST as you will be putting these in the oven and we don't want a fire)

  • How to make a hair clip / barrette. Korker Bows - Step 3
    Step 3

put all your rods of ribbon onto a metal cookie sheet. i put foil on my sheet because i also use it for food and didn't want toe food smells to get on the ribbon, or the ribbons to get dirty. preheat oven at a low setting, around 225-250 degrees and put cookie sheet in oven for 25-30 minutes

    Step 4

take off clothes pins and slowly unwind the ribbon from the dowel rod

  • How to make a hair clip / barrette. Korker Bows - Step 6
    Step 6

cut the ribbons to the size you want the finished product to be (tip, using clear nail polish on the ends will keep ribbons from fraying)

  • How to make a hair clip / barrette. Korker Bows - Step 7
    Step 7

bunch the ribbons however you want the bow to look and secure using thread or fishing line, tie up, and add the clip of your choice

chelsea, i just used regular ribbon you would use in hairbows. i love that it looks like gift wrap ribbon, but it's not!

What type of ribbon *did* you use? in the picture it looks sort of like that plastic tinsel ribbon you wrap presents in, but i don't think that would work in the oven. I really like this idea

i've tried all different kinds, but i'm not sure i've tried organza. if you do try, just make sure you stay by the oven and keep watch, just in case. i'd be mortified to know i had a part in burning your house down!

good idea! I love it. I have organza ribbons, can I use them? or it should be satin ribbon?
