  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Start by cutting two peices of fabric. One, in the cover fabric, measuring 28" by 26". And one, in the lining fabric, measuring 28" by 18".

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Pin the lining fabric, at 3 edges, to the bottom edge of the cover fabric, so that the extra cover fabric is pointing out of the top.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Pin a length of ribbon, 18" long, to the fabric so than an inch is sticking out and the remaining ribbon is pinned inside the fabric.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Sew along the 3 edges, removing the pins as you go, but leaving the top edge (the one along the side with the excess fabric) unstitched.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Fold this inside out and fold over the excess fabric flap so that it's wrong side is facing out. Pin this at the sides.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Sew the edges of the flap, removing the pins as you go.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Fold the flap inside out, so that the right face of the fabric is facing out.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

Measure out how big you want the needle pockets to be and mark out the lines with sewing pins.

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

Sew down each of these lines, removing the pins as you go.

  10. Step 10

    Step 10

Sew another length of ribbon about 8" in from the first.

  11. Step 11

    Step 11

Place your needles in, arranging them by thickness.

  12. Step 12

    Step 12

Roll it all up and tie the ribbons in a bow.

Wow, that is some interesting stuff people are using this knitting needle holder for. I guess I'll be boring and just make one for...knitting needles.

your instruction do not match your photos. #1 has the lining fabric facing the cover fabric which is right side up but #5 has the right side up but the lining is beneath the cover fabric(considering that some of the seams were sewn in #4). I'm really upset because I cant get it right. please help me.
