i used different/thinner yarn than called for in original pattern, so i compensated by using smaller needles.

thanks! i used Cascade Fixation (another one almost identical is Elann's Esprit @ elann.com), it runs about 5-6 bucks a ball. it isn't lined, although i could bust out my sewing skills and try it next time..
