You Will Need

Step 1Cast on 24 stitches.
All the even rows will be the right(front) side of your work.

R2: knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 - purl 12- knit 2, purl 2, knit 2
R3: purl 2, knit 2, purl 2 - knit 12 - purl 2, knit 2, purl 2
R4: knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 - purl 12- knit 2, purl 2, knit 2Now you are ready to start the first cable:
R5: purl 2, knit 2, purl 2 - slip the next 3 stitches on the cable needle and hold to the back of your work, knit the next 3, knit 3 from cable needle, slip the next three stitches on the cable needle and hold in front of your work, knit the next 3 stitches, knit 3 from cable needle - purl 2, knit 2, purl 2R6: knit 2, purl 2, knit 2 - purl 12- knit 2, purl 2, knit 2
Now repeat rows 1-6 until your work is the desired length. Sew the two end together and viola, your cowl is finished!
