I saw someone use bathroom towel rings as handles for a purse on some craft knitting show I watched on TV forever ago and decided to give it a go.

I lined mine with some fabric from an apron my sister-in-law snagged from a theater that was cleaning out its wardrobe closet, and borrowed (litterally... when I get home I hafta put them back!) the towel rings from my bathrooms for the handles.

This was my first real attempt at cables, and though they worked, the yarn didn't show them off very well. Then I ran into a design flaw when I didn't give the sides enough opening to actually OPEN the purse, so I have to twist the rings towards the inside to open it. I guess it's kinda like a security feature?
