I have a lot of keys nowadays, and they scratch everything in my bag. So i decided to wrap them with a key cosy. But a cosy with an attitude ;)
1
-Cut the sleeve of a sweater (i used aprox. 15 cm)
-Cut two triangles for the ears
-Cut a long strip for the tail
2
Fold both ends of your sleeve and sew a hem (hope thats the right word in English ;) (± 1cm space for a cord later on)
Sew the ears/horns on the upperside
3
Sew the long strip and turn it right side out with a crochetneedle.
4
Pull the 'cord' through the lower 'hem'
(i always use a safetypin to do this). I fastened one side to the monster, other side free to pull (not sure if this is the best solution, open for suggestions :))
5
Pull a cord through the upper 'hem' and pull it tight. Turn your monster inside out, make a strong knot in the cord, and fasten this thing to it (what is this called in english?)
This hook is on the INside of your monster.
6
Give him some eyes :)
7
Clasp your keychain on the hook... (monster is inside out here)
8
Turn monster right side out and let him 'eat' your keys whenever you need them protected. Pull his tail to let him close his big key-eating mouth.
