  1. Step 1

    Step 1

Cut a template of an oval shape about 3 1/2" by 1 1/2" and cut the edges flat. Use this to draw out 3 (9 for the set) ovals on to your first fabric.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Repeat this with your second fabric, so that you have 3 more ovals, 6 in total per ball (18 for the set).

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

Stitch two different fabric ovals together along one of the edges, so that the wrong sides are facing out.

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

Sew along the pinned edge, removing the pins as you go.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Pin down a third oval, of the alternate fabric, along one side of the stitched ovals and sew in to place.

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

Repeat this until all six ovals are sewn. Sew up the remaining side, so that the wrong side of the ball is facing out.

  7. Step 7

    Step 7

Sew up the top, open edge, of the ball by laying the edges flat on top of each other and sewing one straight line. Fold the ball inside out.

  8. Step 8

    Step 8

Fill the ball with lentils or beans and stitch up the remaining open side with a needle and thread.

  9. Step 9

    Step 9

Make two more balls and you're ready to start juggling.

You can make a really easy version with Balloons and rice :D Just fill one balloon with rice and tie it off, then take a second balloon and cut holes in it, then stuff the rice filled balloon inside the cut up one. It makes a cute little juggling ball!

I love juggling, but I always loose my juggling balls! I'll get started on these when i get the chance!
also I'm hoping to start up a business doing circus skills workshops, so being able to replace the balls this easily would be a real asset!
Thanks!
