First you need to gather your supplies. A tshirt, I used a men's medium shirt, scissors, and a bunch of do-hickies. :)
2
Next, cut off the bottom hem of the shirt and cut straight across from the armpits. You should have a flat rectangle area
3
Now its time to cut our stips out widthwise. They should be about an inch, but you can make them smaller or larger for different looking strands. If you cut em too big though it wont curl right :( I got about 14 stips from mine but im sure it'll vary from shirt to shirt.
4
Pull at the strips one at a time (it gives a better look than all at once) until they're all pretty perfect tubes :)
5
Now here is where you can go a thousand different ways with this project. Braiding, adding beads and bobbles and anything found around the house. I decided to be simple and add a chain. I cut the jersey at the top of the loop so it would be easier to knot and braid
6
Next, I added two knots and tied in my chain with the other pieces. be sure to make the knots tight but be careful to not break the chain, which is exactly what i did :( no fun trying to fix that.
7
just a picture of the chain. I regular braided the ends on the other side of the knots. but its also fun to fishtail braid :)
8
yay but now everything's a mess... so tie the ends together and snip the loose ends.
9
cut out one extra strip of tshirt and wrap it around your mass of knots super tight and make it look all perty. and viola! you're done.
