    In a sifter add Dry Ingredients
    Make a well in the center

    pour in 1 1/2 cups water and apple cider vinegar in the same cup. Then pour in the well of bread.

    Stir from middle outward in increasing circles until dough is soft and wet but not sticky. If it is sticky sprinkle flour, knead, until soft dough is formed

    When mixed take dough on a floured surface, and with washed hands pat hard into a round ball. Pat down until dough is about 1 1/2 inches thick

    Transfer onto greased cookie tray
    Cut a deep cross into top of loaf and prick the four corners.

    Bake in the (pre-heated) oven for 15 minutes at 450 Degrees F, then turn down to 250 Degrees F for 30 minutes until cooked.

    If you doubt your ability. Pick up loaf and tap bottom should sound hallow :)

    Brush with butter on top and allow to cool

Yes no buttermilk! i have a buttermilk recipe if you want it to be posted. the apple-cider vinegar mellows it a bit. a little less sour doughy. some people don't notice a difference at all, i do however. ts def a recipe if you have no access to buttermilk.

No buttermilk! it's insanity! lol. Yah you really just need the acid to make the soda activate, did the apple cider vinegar give it any kind of flavor...?
