A nice, non-edible sandwich to keep your Ipod/Mp3 Player Warm :)
Bored during the summer, I rummaged through my house and found some white high density fibre foam.

...a.k.a, craft foam :)

Looking at my Ipod to change the song I was listening to, I noticed all the scratches on it.

So the connection was made :D

My story would be comeplete if I was hungry for a sandwich, but I wasn't...the sandwich thing is an random thought, haha~

Made with craft foam, and cheap dollar store acrylic paints.

I made this over a year ago, so I don't clearly recall what exactly I did...Here's what I remember :)

  • Step 1

Trace the outline of your Ipod or Mp3 player of choice on a piece of scrap paper. This will be your template :)

  • Step 2

On a sheet of craft foam (you can find it at Wal-Mart, or any craft store, trace your template out 5 times, leaving genorous space in between.

  • Step 3

Useing a pen or pencil, whatever you wish to use, draw the shape of a slice of bread around two of your templates. Next, draw a square around another template for cheese, a wavy shape around another for lettuce, and an oval-like shape for the ham.

  • Step 4

Cut out these shapes. Here's how they should be cut:

    - the two slices of bread should be left alone, WITHOUT cutting the template shape out of them. These will be the cover and the backing.

    - When cutting the slice of cheese, cut out the template in the centre of the foam, leaving an edge or a rim. This will keep your mp3 player inside the cover.

    - The lettuce and the ham pieces are to have the templates cut out as it is traced, and an opening at the bottom, which should be the exact same width as the template itself. This is for sliding in your mp3 player.

  • Step 5

Paint all the pieces! When dry, paint the other side. When both are dry, paint the edges!

  • Step 6

Using any adhesive to put the pieces together, layer the pieces like so:
    -bread slice at th bottom
    -lettuce and ham
    -cheese

  • Step 7

When putting the top bread slice on as the cover, instead of sewing it on, sew it on, so it's able to be flipped open.

  • Step 8

I added a small speech bubble with a heart using the extra foam I had, so have fun with it :)

Could we velcro the toast down? That way it will stay shut when needed to and be able to open easily?
