Invite your fabric over for a cup of tea :D
I was really in the mood for making some fabric flowers, but I only had some very white jersey knit, winch doesn't look that classy. So I decided to give tea dyeing it a go. I have tried on one ocation before and it made the cotton look old and more like vintage linen.

This s super easy and cheap. And you can do it with any old boring t-shirt you have lying around

    Step 1

First my darlings. You must find yourself a fabric piece. Cotton is the best for this.

Then you must find yourself some teabags. I used Black tea since it will give of a beige colour. But from what I have gathered other types of leaves give different colours.

    Black Tea: Beige.
    Berry Teas: Light pink/purple.
    Green Tea: Green-ish yellow

It would be cool to mix and match your dye to see what you get.

Take the pot and bring your water to the boil. Add your teabags and let them boil in your water for 10 minutes and you are happy with the colour of your water

The colour will last if you run it a full cycle (with heat) in your dryer.
And when you wash it, try and was it on a setting that is mild to fabric.

will the colour last if you put it through a washing machine? If not, do you know a way you could make it colourfast?
