Great recipe!! do you think it would be the same if I used butter instead of margarine?

Please tweak your recipe. I made this today and threw the lot out because they were dreadful. They tasted like butter covered in chocolate. I even doubled the amount of powdered sugar. You need much much less margarine and way more coconut and powdered sugar.

Vicky Ninja- did you make sure to measure ingredients by weight instead of converting the grams into cups?
200g of coconut flakes is a TON. A few cups worth.

No, I used grammes on scales. We don't use cups here. The mix ended up pretty much just butter. Are you sure its 250g? I think you might have made a typing error or something.

I agree with some of the others here - less butter and more powdered sugar did the trick! And they were excellent!

Is Bounty anything like Mounds? I'm from the US and it sounds a lot like em.. put an almond on the top, and maybe some almond extract in the mix, before you but the chocolate on and it would be an Almond joy..

I did a vegan version of this (basically used vegan margarine) and I didn't need any (soy)milk. Turned out great! Thanks for this recipe:)
