proud to be different
Okay so to put it simply I am making gauges for myself because the items mean a lot to me. I am currently in the process of making gauges using my wisdom teeth, silicon hollow gauges (mold) and resin. As we all know having teeth pulled can be pretty pricey and having my procedure done makes pretty pricey look really cheep. I was only able to keep two of my teeth because the others had to be cut in half, so with the two i have i want to make something different. I realise most people may find this a bit strange and creepy, and I accept this but before judging me think of this, Most people wear sharks teeth without issues, so why should wearing your own teeth be any different? These are my teeth and I will wear them proudly as a symbol of the pain I've over come. I will post pictures and more when they are finished but for now all I can provide is how big the wisdom teeth are.

In the end I decided to go against this idea simply because I had gone up in plug size. So I made them into rings instead. I will post a picture shortly. Happy

I think its a very unique idea. I had my wisdom teeth out & they were impacted & in the front of my mouth so I know how much pain you went through. For some people its easy because theirs are not impacted; I'm guessing if they cut yours in half they were also impacted. I still have mine in a lil DIY envelope that says Crystals Wisdom Happy & I have my daughters too. Some would say they are an odd thing to save but parents have been playing tooth fairy for centuries. I don't think resin is the best choice for the tapered part. I'd go with a non toxic clay that you can bake or air dry. I'm curious to see the final out come. Happy holidays! ~Crystal

Thanks for being... rude I think is the best term. I'm not saying I'm special for having my teeth pulled, however they did cause me quite a lot of pain and discomfort. Before judging someone that you don't know baised on what they think is going through something major, maybe you should get to know them and find out why they feel the way they do. How wearing teeth is toxic I don't think I will understand, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Its just good to know that you get your shits and giggles out of making people feel bad for something you don't even know or care to learn about. Have a pleasant evening.

Me personally my own teeth would freak me out, but I think you're super brave and innovative to do it. I understand the pain thing, and that girl had no right to undermine your accomplishments. I've never had absolutely anything done in terms of surgery or teeth or bones or sicknesses or you name it, so I have a like -5 tolerance for pain. The worst thing I've experienced was getting my nose pierced, luckily I don't think I need my wisdom teeth out. But it's great that you feel proud and decided to turn it into something artistic and beautiful that you can look at to remind you of what you can handle and how strong you are.

....Okay look, normally I just shrug off weird ideas of wearing toxic things in their bodies because it's their own thing and I'm not going to waste my time. .... but after reading that ONE sentence you made, I had to laugh.
A good portion of the world gets their wisdom teeth yanked out.... It doesn't make you any less different.

You don't need to be a c**t. If you're not interested or genuinely concerned with someone's welfare or ideas, just shut up and screw off.

Thanks. Happy I just used the word gauges because it is common to most people.

I just want to correct you- they are not called gauges. The gauge is only the size. I assume you're making plugs (and using silicone tunnels for the molds), just be super careful with stuff like that- resin can be incredibly toxic, especially for your ears.

But I really do think that's an AWESOME idea. C: Just be careful.
