Here I have yet another Hello Kitty related project for you :)
I made this when I was expecting my daughter, Abigail. She loves her blankie! I just had to share what i've been upto
Comfort blankie, or snuggie, whatever you call it, i've made one. Here it is...
1
< I used a sarong with hello kitty printed on the fabric. I washed and dried it, before cutting the tassles off
2
< I folded the fabric in half, and found where half way was. Then I cut up the middle so I was left with two halfs.
3
< I chose the half I wanted to use.
4
< Then I folded over the excess fabric edge, and pinned into place.
5
< Once the excess was pinned, I sewed the edges shut. If you want to, you can press this with a hot iron to give the edges better staying power.
6
< With all my edges sewed into place, I placed the fabric onto a fleece blanket. This part was a bit tricky, (as anyone who has ever worked with fleece knows, the fleece tends to stretch!) so don't rush it! I pinned the fabric to the fleece, then when I was happy I cut the fleece out.
7
< Next, I sewed the fabric to the fleece using a running stich, then finished off the edges using blanket stitch.
8
< When I finished the edges, I chose a corner in which to sew a hello kitty plushie onto. Kawaii or what?! ^_^
Soft and snuggly enough for a baby
