these work as well as the normal u clips.......im making a whole box full of them. you dont need any tools .. just ur hands.. this is my very 1st HOW-TO . i just hope the directions are clear..

hold the pin with the small 'U' to ur left
-
bend the two turned loops of the clip upwards... try to bend the clip in two equal halfs.. i usually make a mark (see the black spot in the 1st pic)and then bend the clip using the mark as a reference.

turn the straight open end( marked by the dotted arrow) of the pin upwards towards the right loop of the heart...(bend the straight end from the center of the x shape)

now u have somthing that looks like this..bend the straight end only till its in-line with the 'x' loop of the heart to maintain the heart shape

now turn the clip over....the straight open end marked 'A' here will fall behind the 'x' loop. just push it towards urself so that it comes in frunt of the "x" loop

hope u have somthing that looks like this... now try it on some paper... if it dosnt hold the paper together then just press the pin hard between ur fingers.. or in any other way u think works to make the clip tight..

there u have it... heart shaped paper clips..i use them as book marks or to hold my notes together.. i have never tried to make them with metal u pins... i have only made them with rubber coated u pins or plastic u pins.
