You can use a plain piece of paper, coloured paper or origami paper [this option means colour is different on different sides= wings will be different colour to the heart]
The difficult part is folding the heart but once you got that, it is a nifty little accessory.
TIP:You can use different sized paper to get bigger or smaller versions as long as the paper is square.

pinch the centre of the wings only [behind the heart-do not pierce the heart] and pierce it with the safety pin [or with a sewing needle].Keep the safety pin in for the brooch. You can pierce two holes so that for the brooch the heart stays level.
you can also use this as a hair accessory. For this you can put a bobby pin in the hole and put it in your hair :D enjoy!
