Jazz up a plain tee with this Heart Patch Pattern! It’s a great way to start working knitting into your every day wardrobe and to take knitting into spring and summer and is even great for covering up pizza sauce stains! The pattern uses the tiniest bit of leftover sock yarn and standard size 4s so you know you already have the materials! Put one on a long sleeve tee or make a bunch and decorate an entire tank.   1. CO 1 Row 1 (RS): KFBF. Row 2 (WS): K1, P1, K1. Row 3: K1, KFBF, K1 - 5 sts. Row 4: K1, P1, K1, P1, K1. Row 5: K1, P1, KFBF, P1, K1 - 7 sts. Row 6: (K1, P1) across. Row 7: K1, P1, K1, BI, K1, BI, K1, P1, K1 - 9 sts. Row 8: K1, P1, K1, P to last 3 sts, K1, P1, K1. Row 9: K1, P1, K1, BI, K to last 3 sts, BI, K1, P1, K1 - 11 sts. Rep last 2 rows twice more - 15 sts. Work Row 8 once more. Next Row (RS): K1, P1, K1, BI, K4, P1, K4, BI, K1, P1, K1 - 17 sts. Row 2 (WS): K1, P1, K1, P4, K1, P1, K1, P4, K1, P1, K1. Row 3: K1, P1, K1, BI, K3, P1, K1, P1, K1, P1, K3, BI, K1, P1, K1 - 19 sts. Row 4: K1, P1, K1, P5, K1, P1, K1, P5, K1, P1, K1. Row 5: K1, P1, K1, BI, K3, P2tog, K1. At this point you are separating the top of the heart by knitting with another strand of yarn. With this strand, K2tog, P1, K4, BI, K1, P1, K1 - without turning there are 9 sts in the first hump and 10 in the second. Continue working each side of heart with it's own strand of yarn at the same time. Each side of the heart is separated in the following directions by a ';', so when you get to the ';' you will drop one strand and start working with the other. Row 6: K2tog, (P1, K1) to last 2 sts, P2 tog - 8 sts; P2tog, (K1, P1) to last 2 sts, P2tog - 7 sts. Row 7: K2tog, P1, K1, P1, K2tog - 5 sts; K2tog, P1, K1, P1, K1, P2tog - 6 sts. BO all sts.

  2. FINISHING Weave in ends. With a needle and thread, sew around seed stitch heart boarder to attach to anything!
