    Wash the empty shells thoroughly and dry.

    Coat it with colorless nail polish. You may also want to use colored nail polish. You can be creative on this.

    Cover the back part of the shell with your scrap felt or any fabric to make it easier to attach it to the head band or hair clip.

    Cover your head band with a silk ribbon or lace. Then attach the embellished shell to the head band. Make sure to cover any unwanted sight of the hot glue.
