This is a fun wand to make to show off your amazing wood working skills to your friends! this project cost me nothing since I had everything already at my house:) WARNING: PLEASE IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 14 PLEASE ASK PARENTS PERMISSION BEFORE USING THE EXACTO KNIFE!
Step 1: To start off you will need a stick you found on the ground. It will need to be big enough, so that when you start to shave the bark off it does not become a twig. Remember: you can always cut it down later if it is to big
Step 2: This is the hard part. using your exacto knife shave off the bark until you hit the soft wood underneath. Shave off as much wood/bark as you want. Remember: when using an exacto knife be extremely careful, and always point the knife away from your self. Always close the exacto knife when you are done using.
Step 3: Start to shape the stick, by making a point at the top, or little grooves within. I made grooves that will fit my thumb while i hold the wand. Remember: don't make the stick to thin or else it could break while in use!
Step 4: TIME TO PAINT! using the paint color of choice put a little onto your wand. Using the small piece of cloth, or a paper towel rub it into the wood. A little bit of pain can go a long way! This makes the wand look older and also gives it a more stain finish If your stick is to long, wait for the pain to dry then take a hand saw and saw to the choice of length
Step 5: There you now have a wonderful wand that you can use to decorate your room or just have a blast with:) (the stick in the first four pictures is a different stick then my finished one-- i forgot to take pictures while making)
