Ever wanted to take every HP book you own with you everywhere and just stare at them? Well now you can!
Almost everything I used I already had at home, so really the only direct expense was half an euro for printing the "covers" of the books. I had a faint idea of making some HP jewelry and I googled it to get a better image. I came across these bracelets and decided to have a go at them. Although the idea isn't entirely mine, the process of making was my own idea.

  • How to make a bracelet. Harry Potter Books Bracelet - Step 1
    Step 1

First off, you're gonna need to brew a strong cup of coffee. Drink it, leaving only a small amount of coffee and of course, the grounds. You don't wanna drink those, yuck. Paint 2 or 3 pieces of paper with coffee (both sides), blot out the excess liquid and let dry. It takes about 10 minutes.

(This is not exactly necessary because the pages won't be visible almost at all, but I like the slight stain of the edges of my little books.)

Then, print the book covers. Mine were taken from the internet but I sadly cannot find the image anymore. It's best that you have them printed in a shop so you get a real good quality paper.

    Step 3

Take measurements of your book covers. Mine were 6 cm wide and 3 cm high.

    Step 4

Mark the coffee stained paper with your books' height and cut it into strips according to the markings.

    Step 5

Decide on the width of your books' spines. This determines how "fat" your books will be. Mark the spine in the centre of the cover. My spine was 0,6 cm wide so either side of it was approximately 2,5 cm.

    Step 6

Devide your strip of paper into equal parts by marking the width of one side of your book cover minus the back (2,5 cm in my case, as stated previously).

    Step 7

Fold the strip into an accordion by following these markings, although you needn't be very precise.

  • Step 8

Straighten out your accordion and run your glue stick across the length of it then fold it back.

    Step 9

You'll need two accordions for each of the books. Glue them to the left and right hand side of the spine marking.

    Step 10

Close the book, but don't glue it together yet!

Put your X-acto knife to work and cut away the "pages" that are peeking out of the cover. Also cut the books to the desired size, making sure not to cut off any important features of the covers.

Next, make your wire loops. Grab the middle of your piece of wire with needlenose pliers and bend it around them to create a loop, twisting the ends around each other until you're satisfied.

    Step 12

Open your book again and superglue the loop between the two accordions. Squeeze the book shut so it stays glued together.

Last but not least, seal the edges of the book with superglue or nail polish. If you have clear nail polish, you can also give the whole book a protective coat.

    Step 13

Congratulations! Your charms are now finished. Put them on your bracelet.

Now you need to figure out the closing system for the bracelet. I used a simple clasp I found in my craft supplies box.

Proudly show the world that you are a potterhead!
