I've been making dreads for years, and decide to share tricks of the trade with you!

Secure one end, and twist the other.
Seal the dread with steam, hot water, or however you find easiest.
Personally i find a steamer gives me better results.
Repeat on the other side
try to keep the twist going in one direction, this will help the dread to not unravel, and make it easier for you if you ever need to re-seal them!
I'm making a different dread in the picture here, this one is merely for illustration as to what I mean!

I ALWAYS fail at backcombing. -___- So I just stick to silk dreads and hope they don't unravel too badly....
