  1. Step 1

    Step 1

    Step One!

Take the hair in the two colors of your choice. For this tutorial I shall be using Darkest brown and a mix of dark purple and fantasy blue.

Make sure you use the same amount of hair for each color otherwise you'll end up with different size ends.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2

Cross the hair over, to make an X sort of shape.

The picture can describe what I mean SO MUCH BETTER!

This must be folded in half

  3. Step 3

    Step 3

    Get your backcomb on!

Try to keep the hair you are backcombing away from the other color. Secure it well otherwise the hair will move and make it almost impossible to dread!

  4. Step 4

    Step 4

You've finished when you have nicely backcombed messes, that go from large to small.

It should look something like this!

IT TAKES ALOT OF PRACTISE. Your first try will probably look awful, my first ones did!

  5. Step 5

    Step 5

Secure one end, and twist the other.
Seal the dread with steam, hot water, or however you find easiest.
Personally i find a steamer gives me better results.

    Repeat on the other side

try to keep the twist going in one direction, this will help the dread to not unravel, and make it easier for you if you ever need to re-seal them!

I'm making a different dread in the picture here, this one is merely for illustration as to what I mean!

  6. Step 6

    Step 6

One the hair is sealed, snip off the bushy ends with a pair of scissors and YOUR DONE.

    Repeat as you want!

I SELL THESE, CHEAPLY. I am ALWAYS taking orders! Please message me or visit my WEBSITE for details!

I ALWAYS fail at backcombing. -___- So I just stick to silk dreads and hope they don't unravel too badly....
