  1. Step 0

    Step 0

Using the construction paper trace the shape of a star. You'll need 13. Cut them.

  2. Step 1

    Step 1

punch two holes, one in each side. Do this to all the paper stars.

  3. Step 2

    Step 2

cut pieces of yarn that measure 4 inches. Tie two stars together. do this with 5 stars to form the "happy" word. Do the same with the rest.

  4. Step 3

    Step 3

You can tie them all together but you'll have to use and extra star between the words happy and birthday.

  5. Step 4

    Step 4

Use the black and white oil pastels to draw the letters. I added a small circle to the start and end of each letter.

  6. Step 5

    Step 5

I added the name of my friend and an extra star to write something to her. This was a gift so i folded the stars in a way that the one on top was the one with the note. I used a cd envelope that had a clear view. It was a nice gift.
