These are delicious little snacks to have on hand, whether it's for a light lunch, a big party, or watching a Cavs game at home with a few friends. The recipe makes a big batch, but they can be frozen and baked whenever you need them!

These are delicious little snacks to have on hand, whether it's for a light lunch, a big party, or watching a Cavs game at home with a few friends. The recipe makes a big batch, but they can be frozen and baked whenever you need them!

Instructions

  1. Small 110222 2f2015 08 02 021716 dscn2408

In a large frying pan, saute the ground beef and the sausage. Make sure you mix them together as they cook.

  2. Small 110222 2f2015 08 02 021722 dscn2405

While the meat is cooking, line a cookie sheet with wax paper and lay out the slices of party rye.

  3. Small 110222 2f2015 08 02 021730 dscn2409

Once the meat is fully browned, drain off the fat. Return the meat to the pan and add the diced cheese, garlic salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Make sure the burner is still on!

  4. Small 110222 2f2015 08 02 021734 dscn2410

Stir the ingredients in the pan until the cheese is melted.

  5. Small 110222 2f2015 08 02 021740 dscn2412

Let the mixture cool for a few minutes, then divide the meat and cheese mixture between the party rye slices. I ended up using about a rounded tablespoon of meat mixture on each piece of bread.

Once the hanky pankies are assembled, you have two options. To eat them fresh, simply place them under the broiler until the cheese is bubbly. If you don't want to eat them right away, cover the cookie sheets with another piece of wax paper and freeze them. From frozen, they can be baked for 20 minutes at 375 degrees.
