Free light bulbs + old guitar strings = amazing planters
My job was going to throw away all these light bulbs, because they went with new. So I grabbed them up and decided to make mini hanging planters around the house. The tricky part is getting the inside of the socket out. Manual labor seemed to work the best, although it kind of boogers up the tops. With the plants in them you can't see it anyway :-) We drilled a small hole and put an old guitar wire through the hole. If you have ever seen a guitar wire, it has the perfect built in stopper to hold the bulb. The top hook was made by twisting the wire around itself. add water and plants and there you have it. I am so excited how much light they reflex and brighten up a darker area, I plan on having them all around the house.
