get a friends photos mobile with leftover slides!
I had some photo slides left over and wanted to do something with them. So why not using them for a similar thing to which they are build for?

  • Step 1

Get your empty slides ( or MAKE them empty, but be sure nobody needs the photos ;) ) and decide which digital ( !!! ) photos you want to hang!

    Step 2

Well, here it gets tricky! I used photoshop, you can - if you have it - use a similar programme.
If you don't, you have to think of an -own way- to get your pictures.

Here's how to do it with PS or sth. similar:

Crop the pics in the needed size ( my slide frames were 2,5cmX4cm, you can set the cropping tool to that scale! ), resize the pics to exactly that size ( width: about 150 pixel! )

Place your mini pictures on your A4-document in horizonal pairs, each pair with about 30 pixel between the two pics. About! I was lucky getting the right size "by accident". ^^
Merge all pics down to a single layer and give this layer a black 10 pixel-stroke.

( Don't DARE to comment on the stupid party-pictures within this pic xD )

    Step 3

Print your pictures with a colour printer! Eeeasy!

Well, and then start cutting! Cut out the pairs along the stroke line, you don't have to be very precise here. Make sure you don't cut apart the pairs by accident!!!

    Step 4

    Fold each pair!

    Step 5

Put the folded picture in the slides. Cut off any acess if needed. ( You see, perfect fit *yay* )

I always took the picture I preferred on the black side, it just looks more professional. ^^

Well, do that with every pair and be proud of yourself & padd your shoulder when you're finished.

    Time to hotglue!

That's how I glued them together, I just used gift wrapping ribbon, it's cheap and looks nice!

Finally I hang the photos to my wonderfull chinese paper lamp with the help of a wooden stick...

Right in the middle of my room. <3
Now I always have my beloved ones around... xD

I've been looking for some ideas for using photo slides...so I am so glad to have found this! Yay! By the way, if someone can't afford to get Photoshop I recommend a program called GIMP which is free and has a lot of features similar to photoshop. www.gimp.org
