you're never too old to fingerpaint!
My husband was at BMT & I wanted to make something special for him, since he was missing our son growing. So me & my friend decided to fingerpaint. I had this old poster frame sitting around, so we let my son make handprints with different color fingerpaints on the inside of the plastic cover. I painted his name across the top (dont forget to go backwords!) Then we put paper over the cardboard backing & painted! We had paintbrushes, but discovered it was just easier to use our fingers. When we were through, we each put our handprint in a corner & signed with glitter glue. Had to let dry about 2 days before I could put together.
