Based on Half Apron by athenamat
I used the basic pieces as described in the inspiration apron. I did not follow any of her instructions for construction beyond that however. Also I did not gather this apron.

In brief

1st
I made each part similar to how you make a pillow case so that all parts were lined in the opposite fabric.

2nd
I sewed the piece that would become the pocket section between the body and its lining with right sides facing each other.

3rd
I then tucked the waist band (also lined) into the resulting pocket(This part was tricky). I then sewed this shut (with the waist band sandwiched in, and the tie ends folded down and out of the way inside)all but the last 2 inches.

4th
Through the remaining 2"s I pulled the whole thing right side out. Then I tucked in the raw edges and closed the reaming hole.

Tada!
(Oh and I added a ribbon the end of each tie.)
