    Step 1

Find some pictures online, or come up with a design, and construct the basic armature of your comb out of wire and masking tape.

Make sure when you make the comb part, you double the wire so that it is sturdy.

    Paint it.

I chose a Tortoise shell look.
Basically, painting it yellow all over as the first coat, then light brown, wiping off the access, then watering down dark brown, black, and red, and adding until it looks like tortoise shell. then, a layer of wicked watery brownish-black, and soapy water on a paint brush to show off the under layer colors.

    Step 5

Coat it. I used Minwax Polyurethane, but anything like that should do.

  • Step 6

Let it dry overnight, then show it off.

Or put it with your amazing vanity.

(sorry about the crappy pic :/ I was cleaning my room and well...I took most everything off of the vanity.)

Also, you can add beads, hang things, etc. to it. I might add other things to it later. Use really good glue though it you are adding stuff :)
And don't put beads onto it before baking...It will melt and make a mess. (plastic beads will, I'm unsure on other's).

  • Step 10

    You're done! :D ENJOY!
