Inspired by the scarfs of Gryffindor House in "Harry Potter".
My friend is a Harry Potter fan, so I knitted this scarf for her using the Gryffindor House colors...or what I thought the colors looked like. I used gold and maroon. Basically, I just knitted 20 rows per color at about 24 stitches per row (she likes wide scarfs). I used size US 8 (5mm) knitting needles with the 100% acrylic yarn (4-medium?). My friend loves it! :)

Aww. Thanks, Ciara.
Knitting is really fun and it looks a lot more complicated than it really is. Scarves are really easy "first projects". You should try to teach yourself, or if you know someone who knits, see if they'll give you a few pointers. I only just taught myself about 2 years ago and haven't done much knitting until recently, so I'm still very much a beginner. But I love it!
