  1. Step 1

Preheat oven to 175°C/Gas Mark 4.
In a small bowl stir the hot water into 2 tbsp of the honey. Add the sesame seeds and stir well to coat. Set aside.

  2. Step 2

In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt.

  3. Step 3

In another separate bowl, cream together the butter, sugar and remaining 2 tbsp of honey, until light and fluffy. Beat in the flour mixture - the dough will become quite stiff.

  4. Step 4

Pinch off small pieces of dough and roll into 1 inch balls. Roll into the honeyed sesame seeds to coat and place 1 1/2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet. Flatten each one slightly with the bottom of a glass.

  5. Step 5

Bake in the centre of the oven for 15 minutes of until just golden.
Leave the cookies to cool for 1 minute, then transfer to a wire rack to cool.

i would like to try that, my dad likes to cook with sesame seeds ;)
(a detail, honey is twice in the ingredients, you need 4 tbsp in total then?)

2 tbsp is for the dough and 2 tbsp is for the hot water/honey/sesame seed coating you roll the dough in before baking! i wasn't sure if you could separate the ingredients into sections. I'll rewrite the recipe to make it clearer, sorry for any confusion! :]
