A simple yet effective way of coloring graffiti letters.
This is a simple but effective way of coloring in your lettering. I prefer to used three colors like i did with the 'R' but it looks just as good with two colors.
I'm never very good at filling in my lettering so this is my simplest and easiest way to do so, it's effective and looks pretty cool.
Hope you like it!

  • How to draw a graffiti drawing. Graffiti Colouring - Step 1
    Step 1

First of all you need to draw your letter or word in pencil lightly, I'm just going to do an M.

Then you need to add Hookups, Chips or anything to make your letter a bit more unique and unusual. Then go along the out side in a black fine-line pen, and rub out the pencil.

    Step 3

Your going to have to pick two or three colors you want to use, for this I've used blue- dark blue and light blue- but in my other picture I used yellow, orange and red.

If you wanted I'm sure you could used any color combination you wanted but keep it simple with a maximum of three colors for the base.

Now color along the side of your letter with the light color like in the picture, it doesn't have to be neat because you will be blending it anyway.

You could try having the dark color on the out side if you wanted to give that a try but i prefer it this way.

Now color the middle of the letter in the darker color.

If your using three colors then you need to use your middle tone color and i'll tell you when to add the darker color a bit later.

    Step 6

Grab your light color and start blending along the line where the two colors meet until your happy. You can add some more of the darker color in the middle to help it stand out.

<-- The pictures spun round :)

This is where i like to add the black highlights, so grab your black fine line again.
If you do it when you outline your letter the fine lie can run sometimes (depends on how much blending you do).
It can be a bit tricky to get the dark highlights in the right places but generally it'll look okay.

If your using three colors then get your darker color and go along the inside of the dark highlights, blend with the mid tone color if you want.

Lastly you need to add the shadow but you don't have too, it'll look fine without any shadowing.
Basically you make the lines thicker on one side of your letter.

    And Your Finished! YAY!
