I loved the how-to, and when I found an old pair of pants with a nice pattern, I just had to make it!
The strap is from another, ugly bag. I also used both pant-legs, one for the front and one for the back+flap because I needed the bag to be big enough for my laptop.
Next time I need to add lining, I think.

It is cool that you now have a fashionable bag to carry your laptop in that you were able to craft for free out of an old pair of pants and a strap off another bag.
